CTU Colorado Springs: A Military-Oriented Campus
CTU Colorado Springs prides itself on being a military-centric university. Our online and on-campus degree programs are designed to address the unique needs of military and veteran students. We are committed to helping you pursue your education, personal objectives and professional goals while you serve your country, transition to civilian life, and support your family’s needs.
From financial aid to career services resources, CTU Colorado Springs provides dedicated support to students in the U.S. Armed Forces and their family members. For example, you can work with our Military Education Benefit Specialists as you explore the military education benefits and financial aid options available. We’ll work with you to evaluate the transfer credits you can receive for your qualifying experience and training in the military.
Financial Aid
CTU Colorado Springs greatly values our military students’ commitment, and therefore we provide several scholarship and grant opportunities to assist you with your post-secondary education. Our Military Education Benefits Specialists are dedicated to helping you navigate these financial aid opportunities, and reduced tuition rates are available for active duty, Reserve and National Guard members and their eligible spouses.
When you’re ready to apply to a degree program at CTU Colorado Springs, your first step is to visit your Base Education Center and talk to an Education Service Officer (ESO). They’ll provide you with the paperwork you need to get started and they can provide you with preliminary information on tuition assistance (TA) and eligibility of military education benefits.
Transfer Credit
We support military students at our CTU Colorado Springs campus, including active-duty military and veteran students. We assist in evaluating and converting qualifying military experience into academic credit. Considered “transfer credits,” these credits may help by replacing prerequisites or required courses in your CTU degree program.
CTU utilizes the American Council on Education (ACE) Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services to determine transfer eligibility for all military students. To get started, members of the Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps can order a Joint Service Transcript (JST), and the Air Force issues its own transcript through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). Once enrolled at CTU Colorado Springs, our Registrar Evaluation Services Department will review your transcript and determine if any eligible transfer credits can be applied toward your degree requirements.
In addition, our Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Commitment means our PLA evaluators will also conduct a comprehensive review of your MOS Codes to determine whether eligible credit can be granted.
Military and Veteran Resource Community (MVRC) Tool
One of the many ways CTU Colorado Springs assists members of the military is through our Military and Veteran Resource Community (MVRC) tool. This online platform connects the CTU Colorado Springs military student community with numerous educational and professional resources including job fairs, employer information sessions and “interview days.” The platform also features video archives of past events held specifically for our military students.
Online Learning for Military Students
Online degree programs such as those offered at CTU are designed to help military students achieve a balance between school, family and military service. These programs allow students to pursue their degree from any location while attending to their military responsibilities or pursue an online education during their transition back to civilian life. Online degree programs also allow students to study at any time of the day – a benefit for military students who may be used to unconventional hours. Online degree programs are included as part of the Post 9-11/GI Bill® and Yellow Ribbon Programs, and additional educational benefits may be available to complement aid at the federal level.
Advance your Education
CTU Colorado Springs appreciates the service that military service members and their families have provided to our nation. In gratitude, we are dedicated to giving back to active service members, veterans and their families through higher education opportunities.
